GENRE: MELODIC METAL / ROCK

THE SOUND: Catchy melodic 80's hair metal in the same style as Danger Danger, White Lion, and Bon Jovi.

THE RESULT: An impressive debut that rocks from the first track to the last!

THE BAND:
Kevin - Vocals/ Guitar
J.C. - Bass
Matt - Lead Guitar
Greg - Drums

HIGHLIGHTS: Played every hot spot in New York City. Very solid musicianship with clean melodic vocals. The kind you would expect from a band that sounds a lot like White Lion and Bon Jovi!

Formed in the late ‘80's, PASSION RISK quickly rose to the top of the New York rock circuit, conquering such legendary haunts as L'Amour, The Cat Club, The Limelight, L'Amour East, etc. Lead singer Kevin reminisces, “Those clubs were like a second home to us. When we weren't touring, we could probably be found at the back bar. It was a great time to be alive.”

All seemed to be going right for the band, and the consensus was that they were to be the next contenders to the Bon Jovi/Poison/White Lion throne. Bassist J.C. continues the story...”All of a sudden the industry betrayed the melodic rock world, and the whole scene fell apart.” “But we stuck to what we believed in”, notes Greg, the band's drummer. ‘I don't think we could have written a grunge song if we tried, because we always wrote from our hearts. And we all share the same influences. Whether it be KISS, Cheap Trick, or UFO, we always loved powerful, guitar-based songs with tons of melody.” Which is exactly what PASSION RISK is all about; instantly catchy songs with more hooks than a tacklebox. Kevin adds...”It's because of our love for the music and the wonderful support of our fans that we're still here.” And the fan base grows and grows. Just finishing off another highly sucessful East Coast tour, the band paused to take a breath, and record a heart-felt rendition of VOICES for the Cheap Trick tribute CD, STIFF COMPETITION (along with the likes of EnuffZ'nuff, Gilby Clarke, Phil Lewis & many others).

Which brings us up to the present. The band spent the first half of 1999 putting the finishing touches on what is to become their debut CD, set for a fall release. Guitarist Matt explains, “Because we started so young, we got to see trends come and go. But we're all still in our 20's, so we have a lot of passion left.” And now with the whole metal resurgence, acts like POISON, Dokken, Warrant, Ratt, Quiet Riot, and W.A.S.P. are finding themselves filling venues and back on major label rosters. The time certainly seems ripe for PASSION RISK. J.C.: “I'm completely thrilled with the way the CD came out. I can't wait for the rest of the world to hear it. It's been a long time coming, but now I know it was worth the wait.” Worth the wait, indeed.
